Tom Schneider Busts 4th, Harrington takes it down.

WPT Final Table at the Bike - Legends of Poker

The PROP team would like to congratulate Tom Schneider on his 4th place finish at this year’s Legend’s of Poker WPT tournament hosted by the Bicycle Casino.  He started the day 1st in chips, but was riding a rollercoaster as he was one of the most active players at the table.

We tried to help by giving him a PROP dealer button to ‘calm’ him down.  You should see it on the table on TV as he was playing with it.  It seemed to bring good luck initially, as he was all in with pocket 7s, against chip leader Harrington who called with A/10.  An A/x/7 flop, A turn, blank river gave Tom a Boat and a Double up to about 2mil.  A few rounds later he pushed again with around 1.2 mil and A/9o – got called by the Dragon with KK and out he went.  GG though – he has defintely had a great few months.

Harrington was the eventual champion – after a 3 hour heads up match with David the Dragon Pham. The Dragon was the aggressor the entire match and really controlled the tempo. Harrington seemed to get slightly more aggressive as the levels increased but still limped in most pots. The final hand, from cardplayer:

Action seemed like it might go until the morning until Pham limped for $300,000, and Harrington checked. The flop came 10 5 4, Harrington bet $400,000, and Pham called. The turn card was the A, Harrington bet $1 million, Pham moved all in, and Harrington quickly called with 10 5 for two pair, tens and fives. Pham showed 7 5 for a pair of fives, and he was drawing dead. The meaningless river card was the 3 and Dan Harrington was the 2007 Legends of Poker Champion! He took home $1,634,865 in prize money, a $25,000 WPT Championship seat, and a $10,000 seat in the 2008 Legends of Poker. Pham took home $800,185 for his second place and jumped into first place in the Card Player Player of the Year race with the solid finish.
